This is the Smart Phone Card Trick created by Keith Hanshaw. This magic trick uses the NFC technology in about 100+ android smart phones. Purchase this effect from your local magic shop (Dealers contact Magic City) or buy one directly from our website by scrolling to the bottom of this page.

This magic trick requires a smartphone with NFC capability. The performer doesn't need NFC in their phone, but the spectator's phone must have it. Just ask them if it looks like a new smartphone. If their phone has it, they'll know! The iPhone 5s or 6 will hopefully include NFC as almost all of the android and blackberry platforms are now using it. Take ANY deck of cards. Have a spectator select ANY card. Have the spectator touch all over his selected card, to get his fingerprints on the card. Return the card to the middle of the deck and return the deck to it's box. (You could shuffle the cards before putting them back in the box if you like.

Ask the spectator to place his thumb print in the center of the deck of cards. Using the spectator's smartphone, have THEM open their barcode scanner and getting the lense of the camera as close as possible to the fingerprint, scan the fingerprint on the deck of cards.

The barcode scanner will now scan the fingerprint, scan down through the entire deck and try to find a matching card with the same fingerprint AND THEN go out to Google and try and find an image of the card that it thinks you selected. When it finds it's selection it displays it on the spectator's own smartphone. The magician never touched the phone and it's a regular deck of cards.....
